A designer is ugently needed (estimated 80 hr) for putting in copy & photos of almost finished web3.0 killer category application, that is about 75% finished (codingwise). And which already has a laid out (in html) home page and app UI page design (which we can hire to change later once we have funding and time, if you don't like it).

Also open to funding your design work of a future project that could do lots of help (up to $10,000). Students are welcome to apply & internships available. We are gay-friendly.

REQUIREMENTS: [Please be sure to respond to each of these in your reply]

1) We hope to launch in less than a month to be ready for Valentine’s Day and have a major health insurance company anxious to beta test it now, so need fulltime person for next two weeks, at least;

2) Must be able to start IMMEDIATELY;

3) Must know html, css (for divs and general site layout), preferably javascript layering and big plus if familiar with smarty (easy to learn, basically HTML with a few more commands) templates;

4) Please just send us no more than one or two examples of well designed, creative sites that ideally (not required) show WEB BASED APPLICATIONS (as opposed to typical websites), preferably in the web2.0 space (unlike most websites, the flow of an application website is different.) Sites which require less user interaction & focus;

5) Preferred but not required: Able to do a usability audit, assess the flow, come up with better flow, improve the aesthetics & hand off files in form my programmer can use. Once we have raised our angel funding we will then hire you (at a much higher rate) for a total redesign making it much more user friendly.

6) Big plus if you have some development skills in case revisions needed & our original engineer cannot do fast enough turn around)& skills getting free or nominal cost photos of couples, that look natural & not posed (e.g. playing tag, or in other fun activities together);

7) Available by telephone to take calls 1-3x/day

8) A strong desire to enrich & help keep committed relationships stay together, prevent needless affairs or divorces & major plus if you have an idealistic / altruistic track record helping underdogs.

WHO WE ARE:

Our application’s mission is to help save, revitalize, and ensure millions of marriages and/or committed relationships, hopefully saving hundreds of thousands of savable marriages each year.

OUR MARKET:

The approximately 60M couple relationships in US and worldwide who are either very unhappy (heading for divorce) or simply bored (wanting to kick it up a notch), a virtually untapped market vis a vis the internet. We will be the pioneering company for this space moving the 2.0 revolution to its next step: from social networking to relationship maintenance, repair and enhancement!

So a UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY for entry into the ground floor of a potentially huge company (with three more related spin-off apps needing design once we get funding or are running in black), and to make a major positive difference for society and the planet.

We draw on the latest most definitive research on long lasting happy marriages/committed relationships, and on some of the best practices for saving marriages/committed relationships on the verge of divorce. As such, it is intended to be the most ongoing, interactive, individually tailored, accessible, procrastination-minimizing, effective tool for enriching, strengthening, and thereby divorce and affair-proofing committed relationships today.

CURRENT SITUATION

• 75% of the basic web-app coding has already been developed by our web developer (coder) in php, and about 5% more gets done each day;

• The prior designer already finished most of the HomePage and the basic application UI;

• The founder, has been successful over past two decades in raising funds for many prior projects ($1.5 million) primarily in the nonprofit area. Bio and refs available.

• We currently have Kaiser Permanente "very impressed," and wishing to go ahead with a beta test trial;

• We were one of the finalists in the UC Berkeley Business Plan competitions

Optional: Plus if can demonstrate ability to add humor to site

SPECIFIC DUTIES: (see #2 and 3 requirement above)

1) Finish putting copy into at least 20 subfunctions (about 40 pages including links), well formatted;

2) Finding & inserting at least 40 photos of couples interacting, not just posed, ethnically representative & age representative, the more humorous or involved the better but must be low cost or free;

3) Possible modification of our logo & home page copy;

4) Optional: adding flash like (javascriptlayers?) sequence of testimonies to the home page (inside a testimonies box);

5) Improved background, font, borders. Alignment improvement & look of type, background, or whatever other creative ideas you can come up with; and

6) Change copy on pages as feedback comes in or otherwise.

COMPENSATION:

I have about $800 to start now (possibly more coming in), BUT WAIT!: plus money for photo research if the person hired to find the 40-48 photos does not come through). Plus you would get an additional $3000 once we get funding (80% likelihood in next 2 months)--AND HAPPY TO INTRO you to top flite team in charge of raising the angel funding (two guys from google and one from Oracle!), plus option to be hired for spin-offs and later revisions or different versions requested by later strategic partners if the working relationship is mutually satisfying.

PLUS up to $8-$10K from our profits once we launch could be earmarked to cover your design work for your favorite cause (allowing us 6 months of positive cash flow before providing this grant).
